Cooker Guide
In our fast-paced world where everyone is pressed for time, cookers are making a comeback. Cookers today are safe, versatile, and cut your cooking time by up to 70%! When shopping for cookers, a number of factors should be considered. According to your needs and preferences, you can choose the cooker that works best for you.
Cooker type: The conventional gas cooker model has many benefits, such as instant heat and an environment that is moist. Electric cookers, on the other hand, are quick and distribute heat more evenly than gas cookers. Both models have their own plus points, which are combined in a dual fuel cooker.
Oven type: Before you buy, also keep in mind the different kinds of ovens and what they offer. Single oven combines a cooker with a grill, whereas a single oven with separate grill provides you with the option of cooking and grilling at the same time. With a double oven, you can cook different dishes at different temperatures, at the same time! A fan oven is quicker, economical, and distributes heat evenly, whereas a multifunctional oven is more flexible and provides options such as defrosting, roasting, etc.
Hob type: Different pans require different hobs. Sealed rings, radiant rings, solaglo hobs, ceramic hobs, gas hobs and halogen hobs are various kinds of hobs and each has its own options to offer. Some hobs also have a red spot ring for heating at very quick speeds.
Cookers can cost anywhere between £35 and £1000, depending on size, quality and manufacturer. The size usually varies between 4 to 8 quarts. It is important to remember that you need an equal ratio of liquid to air within the cooker, so that the steam can really build and the food can cook without drying out and losing flavour.
Tip: Go for a multifunction cooker as it offers greater cooking flexibility and a number of cooking options. Also consider the available space in your kitchen before deciding about the size of a cooker.
